Origin: Upper Egypt (sandy soils, 350+ sunny days/year)
Main Varieties:

  • Keitt: Green-red skin, fiberless flesh (Aug-Oct)

  • Kent: Red blush, rich flavor (Jun-Sep)

  • Tommy Atkins: Vibrant red-orange, firm texture (May-Jul)

  • Ataulfo (Honey): Golden skin, creamy texture (Jul-Aug)
